Archbishop Kelvin T. Melzar, Sr., born in Byron, Georgia, married to The Lady Aja Melzar and supported by their children and grandchildren, received his calling in October 1987 under the leadership of Elder Cannie Lester Sr., Pastor of Church of God By Faith, Byron, Georgia. While serving under Elder Lester, Archbishop learned the proper decorum of ministry. After which, Archbishop served in his first pastoral job in Warner Robins, Georgia, in 1988.
Archbishop started Power of Faith in 1994 in Reynolds, Georgia, where he strived to reach people of all ages and cultures. Archbishop continued to do ministry in Reynolds until the Lord led him to Fort Valley State University (FVSU) in 1995, where he attended school and, with the help of God, did something impossible and started a church on the campus of FVSU. In 1997 God allowed Archbishop to work on and off the campus until the Lord opened a door in Jeffersonville, Georgia, in 1998.
In 1998 God allowed Archbishop to meet Bishop Mark Walden, Judicial Prelate of Northern Georgia Second Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ, where he was ordained as a Minister and Elder under Bishop Walden (1998-2002).
While doing the work of faith, as the fire moved throughout middle Georgia, Archbishop Melzar worked in Gordon, Milledgeville, and Jeffersonville.
In 2002 Archbishop became a Bishop in the Lord’s Church. This was performed by Bishop James Capers of Bessemer, Alabama, who consecrated Archbishop as the Prelate of Power of Faith (POF).
In 2008 the Lord called for Archbishop to do a great work in Columbus, Georgia. From 2008 to 2012 Archbishop did not want to be in Columbus. He was so upset with The Lord at the new assignment that in 2012, he made a deal with God for a Baptist Church. God answered, and he served as Pastor of Welcome Missionary Baptist Church from 2012 to 2014, where his faith and fire were rekindled to do God's will.
While serving as Pastor of Welcome, Archbishop returned to Jeffersonville in 2014 to build POF. This is where the Lord did a great work in the city. This great work led to Archbishop opening POF at 38 Cranberry Lane in Jeffersonville. That same year, he was blessed to take over International Healing Ministries in Columbus, Ga. On September 20, 2015, Archbishop started the 6:45 am Prayer ministry. This was the beginning of a movement of God. While praying for a new church building in Columbus, the Lord spoke to Archbishop in a dream, revealing an Indian man and a red brick building. In 2017 the dream came to pass. Not knowing what to do with the building, the Lord had Archbishop construct a deal for the building due to lack of money. In April 2019, Power of Faith CFC, Inc. purchased the building. The dream was made a reality with much prayer, obedience to God, and bizarre faith.
In 2017 while working on a new prayer life, Archbishop took his first trip to Nigeria, where he met Apostle Innocent, which began his first of many mission trips. Archbishop’s work of passion and heart to help Pastors, Bishops, leaders, and the people of God has caused a great work in Africa, and God continues to bless Archbishop to teach and work with leaders throughout Nigeria.
On November 2, 2019, God instructed Archbishop to go to Hinesville, Georgia, where a man would be waiting to help him. Archbishop obeyed and took a trip of faith, and the Lord did just as he said. The Archbishop’s obedience led him to Bishop Kevin Betton and Power of Faith - Hinesville was started. While in Abuja, Nigeria, in March of 2020, the Lord moved on Archbishop not to leave the place of faith, and he began teaching about God unstopping the well in the valley amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Faith caused a tremendous move of God with the availability of 28+ acres of land in Jeffersonville. God opened the doors, and Power of Faith CFC, Inc. purchased the land and building in November 2020. Archbishop continues to work all three locations doing the work of the Apostle.
Archbishop’s dedication and commitment to obey God allowed him to see the glory of God in his life in November 2022 when the Lord God touched the College of Bishops and Apostles USA to select him to be elevated to the office of Archbishop in the Lord’s Church.
Having taken all the hits of the devil, Archbishop continually moved forward, showing the world that God is still faithful to all His promises. Archbishop has allowed God to fight his battles in ministry, money, business, family, and personal life, increasing his faith in Him with each battle.
Molded into a leader with God’s help, not once has Archbishop sought to be a leader, but God has selected him to be a leader for a time like this. In 2023, the Lord set Archbishop aside to be the founder of the World of Faith Fellowship of Churches and Ministry and Faith Work International Council of Bishops to continue the development of leaders in the Lord’s Church.
