Mission: To help the people of God to grow stronger families, faith, and finances, to live a great future by the Spirit of God.
Vision: We will do this by teaching the Word of God with simplicity and revelation, empowering believers by the Spirit of the Holy Ghost and working the Word like Jesus Christ. Reaching mankind wherever they are with the hands of God. Teaching all we reach with the Word of God and demonstration of the Holy Ghost. Building all we reach
Building all we reach with revelation of the Spirit of God to empower them to know that God’s Spirit is important to the building of the Kingdom of God. We will reach, teach, and build, doing the greater works that Jesus Christ has given us so that we may live a Kingdom of God lifestyle on Earth before going to Heaven.
In the heart of Reynolds, Georgia, founded by Archbishop Kelvin T. Melzar, Power of Faith Christian Fellowship Church, Inc. began in February of 1994, with intimate home Bible Studies and soul-stirring yard services, graciously hosted by Betty McCrary. Seeds of faith were sown, igniting a flame that would illuminate a path no one could have imagined.
Transitioning to St. Phillips AME Church, weekly gatherings were held in conjunction with ongoing yard services that reverberated with spiritual fervor.
A pivotal moment arrived in 1995, as divine doors opened, allowing the ministry to hold services in Founder’s Hall on the campus of Fort Valley State University.
Here, history was made as Power of Faith was the first to hold weekly church services, marking a profound chapter of spiritual growth and outreach. As the ministry flourished, guided by the unwavering call of God, it journeyed to Jeffersonville, Georgia. It was here, in the warmth of Ms. Christine Hill's generosity, that street services found a welcoming home in her yard in 1997.
Even as the ministry expanded its reach, its heart remained steadfast in touching lives both in Fort Valley and Jeffersonville. The ministry continued to spread, igniting souls with the power of the Gospel, leading to the establishment of home Bible Studies in Jeffersonville, Georgia.
The flame blazed brighter, enabling the sub-lease of Rib Way Restaurant to hold Bible Studies. With each step, the ministry's footprint expanded across Jeffersonville, Georgia. In 2000, propelled by unwavering faith, the church embarked on its inaugural building project, acquiring a warehouse on 117 Bullard Rd. Archbishop Melzar used his God-given gift of craftsmanship, transforming the space into a immaculate church. Power of Faith transcended geographical boundaries, extending its reach to Milledgeville, Irwinton, and beyond. The ministry even reached the confines of Pulaski State Prison in Hawkinsville, Georgia, from 1998-2004, touching the lives of thousands of women. Through the early release of inmates, relocations, and restoration of families; the ministry was able to witness the fruits of obeying the Word of God.
In the fall of 2014, Archbishop Melzar was led back to Jeffersonville, Georgia, initiating weekly Bible Studies, however the people desired Sunday services. In February 2015 God opened the door for Power of Faith to begin holding Sunday services at 38 Cranberry Lane, where the church remained until 2021.
Located in an area that many would avoid due to the high crime rate and other economic challenges faced by the community, Archbishop Melzar saw the needs of the people in the southside of Columbus, and 447 Andrews Rd, Columbus, Georgia, became the headquarters of Power of Faith CFC, Inc.
From 2015 to 2017, the church held services at 6028 Miller Rd in Columbus, Georgia. Archbishop Melzar fervently sought the Lord for a new church building. The Lord answered, guiding the congregation to its present location.
With unyielding faith, even amidst the trials of the 2020 Pandemic, while many churches were closing and people were sheltering in place, Power of Faith continued to believe God, acquiring 28 acres of land and a 6,000-square-foot building located at 34 School Drive, Jeffersonville, Georgia. Which is now home to Power of Faith’s Jeffersonville campus.
Beyond borders, Power of Faith, guided by Archbishop Melzar's vision and leadership continues to traverse continents, reaching across the globe to Africa, Europe, and other continents. With Archbishop Melzar’s establishment of World of Faith FOCAM and Faith World International Council of Biships, LLC, the ministry continues to grow and touch lives.
